Anxiety is the umbrella term for a number of disorders that are very uncomfortable.
I am a Psychologist who provides…
Individual and Group psychotherapy to adults and couples.
I am an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and am Past President of the New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association.
I specialize in using Cognitive Therapy.
With Cognitive Therapy you will learn a way to feel better in a short time. Cognitive Therapy is a very effective structured approach that gives you concrete tools to change the way you feel. The primary theory of Cognitive Therapy is that the way you feel depends on how you see a situation. If you are anxious, depressed, under great stress or have any other mood fluctuation you do not see situations realistically because of the symptoms. The therapy is to teach you a set of skills that allows you to see the thoughts that underlie your feelings more realistically and to change your behavior accordingly.
